Recently, I’ve resigned myself to the fact that I will never produce a satisfying, bite-sized piece of writing. Much as I admire people who are able to write short stories and punchy 1-2 paragraph posts, my brain doesn’t work that way. It isn’t so much that I can’t write about a small, isolated ideas; it just doesn’t excite me. This is most likely why I poured all of my fiction-writing energy into a single, expansive, obsessively-researched universe that took over a decade to create. Because if an idea is worth writing about, it’s worth exploring every corner. Similarly, when I write non-fiction, I want to be able to place it within the context of all the other writing and research I have done. To that end, I plan to use this blog to store an interlocking body of work, ranging from academic essays to relevant ramblings on fact and fiction.
